Biomedical and Clinical Research Data Coordinating Center

The Biomedical and Clinical Research Data Coordinating Center (BCR-DCC), is a newly formed Data Coordinating Center (DCC) within the Department of Biomedical Informatics, which leverages the extensive 1) informatics-related skills and experience from the above-described faculty and staff and resources in DBMI, and 2) the statistical expertise and data coordination experience in the Biomedical Statistics & Data Science Lab, to provide analytical support and leadership as a DCC for both single and multi-site randomized controlled trials and large pragmatic trials. The BCR-DCC is led by Dr. Landsittel, who is a nationally recognized statistician who also serves as the Director of the Society of Critical Care Medicine Discovery Network DCC, is the Chair of the Safety and Occupational Health Study Section, and serves on an External Expert Panel and DSMB for two ongoing NIDDK-funded large multi-site collaborative studies. He was previously the Associate Director of the Center for Research on Health Care Data Center and the Biostatistics Facility of the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute (now Hillman Cancer Center). Drs. Silverstein, who is the University CRIO, and Visweswaran, who directs the CTSI Informatics Core, provide senior leadership from the informatics perspective in developing web-based data entry and reporting systems.
